Permanent, Christmas and landscape lighting in Latrobe, PA
Latrobe is Arnold Palmer's town, Fred Rogers' town and the Steelers' summer home at Saint Vincent. It is also about 48 miles and a 62-minute drive from our Kittanning shop, where we build the permanent, Christmas and landscape lighting we install here.

Latrobe homes are a mix of tidy brick and frame houses on the grid near the Loyalhanna, mid-century ranches climbing the hills toward Saint Vincent, and larger newer builds in Unity Township. The frame homes light like a postcard with warm-white C9s every December. The ranches want permanent pixels on the long eave with peaks accented, and the Unity Township builds usually have enough roofline for six or more zones.
This is Laurel Highlands weather. Latrobe gets hit by the same systems that bury Ligonier and the ridge to the east, and freezing rain in January is normal. That is the argument for a permanent system: it is mounted once, sealed against water and ice, and nobody is up a ladder in a storm. Traditional Christmas lighting still makes sense if you only want December, and we say so.
We work Latrobe as part of our Westmoreland County route, usually paired with Greensburg. The drive is about an hour each way, so we group consults and installs, and a booked neighborhood gets faster follow-up than a single house on its own. If you and a neighbor both want it, tell us. It shortens everybody's wait.
Services
Three ways to light a Latrobe property
Permanent lighting
Year-round RGBWW pixels on eaves, peaks and columns, with a Game Day scene ready for every Saint Vincent camp week and a true warm white the rest of the year.
Christmas lighting
Roofline C9s, wrapped evergreens and lit porches installed by a costumed crew in November, serviced all season and taken down beginning January 4.
Landscape lighting
Tree uplighting, path lights and lit patios for hillside Latrobe lots, on timers that follow the sun through a Highlands winter.
Why Latrobe is a game-day lighting town
Training camp at Saint Vincent means Latrobe takes its black and gold seriously. The permanent system ships with a Game Day scene alongside Everyday Warm, Christmas, July 4th and Halloween, and each one is a tap in the Thraxel Lighting app or a voice command through Alexa, Google Home or HomeKit. A pixel draws about 0.3 watts, so running the roofline for every kickoff costs almost nothing.
Between events, the dedicated 2700K warm-white diode gives you a real architectural white, not the pinkish mix that RGB-only kits produce. That is what most Latrobe homeowners run 300 nights a year.

Snow Load and Exterior Lighting: What Actually Holds Up
Wet Allegheny valley snow is heavy and it sticks. Track-mounted permanent lighting on 16-gauge wire holds under it; clip-hung strings and staked path lights often do not.
