Turning the roofline into a birthday or graduation banner
There is no factory-set birthday or graduation scene on the Thraxel Lighting app. There does not need to be. With 16 million colors available on the same roofline, a homeowner picks the shade themselves and the whole house becomes the sign.
No preset needed
The named scenes on the Thraxel Lighting app cover the recurring occasions: Everyday Warm, Game Day, Christmas, July 4th, Halloween, plus Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. Birthdays and graduations do not get their own preset, because every one of them is different by design.
That is where the individually addressable RGBWW pixels do their real work. Because each pixel can be set to any of 16 million colors independently, a homeowner can dial in a school's actual colors, a favorite team's shade of blue, or whatever a sixteen-year-old insists is the right pink, straight from the app in a few minutes.
There is no upcharge and no separate configuration process for a one-off color. The 16 million color range is a built-in property of every pixel on the roofline, not a premium feature tied to a specific scene, which is why a custom night costs nothing beyond having the system in the first place.
It is a one-night decision with no installation involved, since the pixels were already there for exactly this kind of use.
This is one of the more underused capabilities of a permanent system, in our experience. Homeowners tend to think about the named holiday scenes first, since those are the ones advertised on the site, and only discover the custom color option once they are already scrolling through the app for another occasion.
What a graduation night usually looks like
For a graduation, the most common request we hear about is running the roofline in a school's colors on the evening of the ceremony or the party that follows, sometimes paired with the porch columns holding a solid color while the main eave run does a slow color shift.
Because zones can run independently, a house can hold one color on the roofline and a different one on the porch, letting a family layer two school colors instead of picking just one for the whole exterior.
For families with more than one graduate over the years, the same setup gets reused each spring with a new color combination, no reinstall required. A house that ran maroon and gold for an older sibling's graduation can switch to green and white the next year with nothing more than an app change.
Birthdays and the warm-white option
Not every birthday calls for full color. Plenty of homeowners just want the roofline running true warm white for a milestone dinner or backyard gathering, using the same dedicated 2700K diode that makes the Everyday Warm scene look like an actual white rather than a mixed approximation.
For a kid's birthday specifically, a bright, saturated color scheme tends to land better than warm white, and switching back afterward takes the same few taps in the app it took to switch into it.
A milestone birthday, a fiftieth or a sixtieth for example, sometimes splits the difference, warm white on the main roofline for a classic look with a single accent color, often gold, added on the porch columns to mark the occasion without turning the whole house into a party display.

Pairing lighting with a music sync for the party
The Thraxel Lighting app also includes music sync, which some families use for a graduation open house or a bigger backyard birthday party rather than a static color. Instead of the roofline holding one steady shade, it pulses with whatever playlist is running through a speaker set up on the patio.
That is a bigger production than most birthday requests, but it is a real option worth knowing about for a milestone event, an eighteenth or a twenty-first specifically, where a family wants the house doing more than just wearing a color for the night.
It requires no more setup than choosing the music sync scene in the app on the night of the event, since the feature runs on the same individually addressable pixels already covering the roofline.
Switching back the next day
One of the practical advantages over a temporary party light rental is that nothing has to come down the next morning. A graduation night in a school's blue and gold reverts to Everyday Warm, or whatever the household runs day to day, with a scheduling change in the app rather than a ladder.
That same flexibility carries into other one-off milestone events, an anniversary party, a retirement send-off, a gender reveal, none of which need their own named scene to still show up on the house.
There is no limit on how many times a color scheme can be reused or how often it can change. A house can run pink for a gender reveal in the spring and blue and yellow for a graduation two months later without any lasting change to the system's default setup.
Setting it up before the big night
