Permanent, Christmas and landscape lighting in State College, PA

State College is about 100 miles and just over two hours from Kittanning, our farthest regular stop in Pennsylvania. Between Penn State's game weekends and the borough's older neighborhoods, we plan every visit here as a full trip, not a quick add-on.

Penn State's campus sits at the center of town, and College Avenue runs along it lined with buildings that see foot traffic from students and alumni alike. The borough's older neighborhoods just off campus have the kind of real fascia and mature trees that make permanent track disappear cleanly, while the newer developments ringing State College toward the townships get a more modern trim profile.

Home football weekends bring more visitors through State College than the town's year-round population, and a few business owners near Beaver Stadium have asked about lighting that can shift to blue and white for a game weekend and settle back to warm white the rest of the season. The RGBWW system handles that switch from the same app used for a holiday scene.

Being our farthest Pennsylvania stop, State College visits get planned as full trips through Centre County rather than quick add-ons to a nearby route, which keeps the quote free of any travel charge. The Christmas season itself runs no differently here: design and a mock-up first, install by the Elves, repairs inside 24 to 48 hours, and takedown starting January 4.

Why State College works despite being the farthest stop

Mount Nittany rises just east of town and shapes the wind pattern across the valley, which is part of why we mount the permanent system in fascia-fastened aluminum track rather than clipped hardware. The IP67 marine-grade silicone housing and 16-gauge wire are rated for that exposure regardless of how far the property sits from Kittanning.

A large share of State College's housing turns over with the university calendar, rental properties near campus and owner-occupied homes further into the townships, and both groups ask the same practical question: will this survive students, weather and years without maintenance. The 3-year parts warranty and app-based scheduling answer both halves of that at once.

FAQ

Common questions from Centre County

Yes, though State College is Thraxel's farthest regular stop in Pennsylvania, about 100 miles and roughly two hours from the Kittanning shop. We install permanent RGBWW lighting, seasonal Christmas lighting and landscape lighting throughout State College and Centre County, planning visits as full trips rather than quick add-ons. There is no charge for the consult, and the design mock-up comes back within two days.
Yes. The RGBWW system includes a Game Day scene alongside Everyday Warm, Christmas, July 4th and Halloween scenes, all controlled from the same app. A business near Beaver Stadium can switch to team colors for a home weekend and reset to a standard warm white the next morning without touching a single fixture.
Often, yes. A landlord who installs the system once avoids the annual cost of hanging and removing seasonal lighting on a rental that turns over every year with the academic calendar, and the app runs the schedule automatically with no tenant involvement. It carries a 3-year parts warranty and 1-year labor warranty regardless of who occupies the property.
It mainly affects scheduling. Because State College is the farthest stop in the regular footprint, consultations and installs are planned as full trips through Centre County rather than one-off visits, which keeps the quote free of travel charges. Once a system is installed, in-season repairs still run on the standard 24 to 48 hour window used everywhere else.
