We will not pretend Cumberland is around the corner. It is about 145 miles and 165 minutes from the shop, down through the Laurel Highlands and over the state line. Our crew already spends part of every holiday season a few miles up the hill in Frostburg on the Tracks & Yaks railbike route, and Cumberland homes and storefronts get scheduled onto those same trips. Cumberland's housing is older and more ornate than most of our Pennsylvania route. The brick Victorians in the historic district along Washington Street, the rowhouses climbing off Baltimore Street, the deep-porch frame homes on the hills.
